How did we get started?
Thanks to one big lucky coincidence, just like many others.
It all started when Michal met Milan at an event organised by friends from CGE, where Michal was showing his Forestry prototype. As it was already a great game, they thought about publishing it themselves.
To do so, they needed to set up a publishing company.
Many people discouraged us from doing so because there are quite a few board game publishers and lots of games are released. The Czech Republic could even compete for the title of the country with the highest concentration of board game publishers per capita. But that didn't deter us. We didn't just want to sell the game in our own country; we wanted to offer it to the whole world. We believed in the game and jumped in head first.
But why wasn't Forestry our first game, but Galileo Galilei?
At our first meeting about the possibility of setting up Troubadour, Michal introduced us to Tomáš. Believe it or not, no one knew him at the time. However, when Tomáš showed us the prototype of Galileo, we all fell in love with it. It was clear that this would be our very first game. When we realised that we were all equally crazy and enjoyed it immensely, it was clear that this wouldn't be a one-off project, but that we would continue.
So here we are, in all our glory!
